Meditation

CircusSeen is a meditation based circus. The children drop into a minute or so of silent breathing and thought a few times per class, to focus and re-energise them. We ask them to share a positive word for them and the class to remember during their training. There are no religious values pushed on the children, just a few minutes of quiet for peace of mind and calm focused minds.

What is Meditation?

Meditation is the mental discipline in which you try to train the mind to reach a state of consciousness for many beneficial reasons. It’s an ancient technique used in many medical, physical and emotional ways, bringing a better understanding to how the mind works. Through meditation practise you learn to discipline the mind and help become a calmer and more positive person. “If every child in the world would be taught meditation, we would eliminate violence from the world within one generation.” ~ The Dalai Lama

Why do we meditate?

As the circus environment is extremely busy, and all circus skills require a high level of focus, concentration and discipline, we believe that meditation practise helps to focus our students and creates calmness within the madness! It also teaches the children to access breathing mediation techniques at any time of the day. We also believe through meditation, it helps re-energise the environment but also grounds students and teachers and develops team work within the classes.
